Module Itinerary

Stop 1: Explore the 10 Strategies, how they can be used in teaching language and content in tandem, and how they can support STEMSS learning in the classroom for language learners. Then, reflect on what you have learned and post your thoughts.

Stop 2: Learn how to use the STEMSS approach to support ELs. You will also learn about the integration of content, technology and examples of how to use the EL strategies in classrooms with EL/DL students.

Stop 3: Explore STEMSS lessons and learn about the different components that make up an effective lesson. Share what you have learned by creating a lesson idea using on or more strategies while collaborating with others.

Stop 4: Reflect on all that you have learned, and then continue to brainstorm ideas on a STEMSS topic of your choice. Create a lesson outline that includes subject integration, technology and EL strategies. NOTE:  This brainstorm/outline may be used in future modules to continue to build an effective lesson for EL/DL classrooms.
